These terms apply to the use of this website and to interpreting and translation services provided by 509lakay LLC under the name LAKAY AGENCY.
Quotes and bookings
A request sent through this website is not a booking. A booking exists only after we send a written confirmation and quote and you accept it. The quote states the rate, minimum time, travel costs and cancellation terms that apply.
Cancellations and late changes
Cancellation and rescheduling fees, if any, are stated in your quote or service agreement. If an appointment runs longer than booked, additional time is billed in the increments stated in the quote.
Payment
Invoices are due as stated on the invoice (generally within 30 days). Late payments may delay future bookings.
Role of the interpreter
- Interpreters render messages accurately and impartially. They do not give medical, legal, immigration or other professional advice, and they do not take decisions for anyone.
- Interpreters may not be left alone with a patient, student or client to complete forms or explain information on behalf of the client.
- For court proceedings, depositions and other settings that require a certified or qualified interpreter, we assign only interpreters who meet those requirements, or we decline the assignment.
Client responsibilities
Give accurate appointment information, a safe working environment for on-site work, and for remote work a stable phone or video connection. Tell us in advance about anything that could affect the assignment (for example sensitive subjects or a known conflict of interest).
Interpreters and applicants
Applying does not guarantee work. Interpreters work as independent contractors under a separate written agreement. LAKAY AGENCY never charges interpreters to apply, to join or to receive assignments.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, 509lakay LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and its total liability for an assignment is limited to the amount paid for that assignment. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Website use
Do not misuse the forms, send false information, try to access the administration area, or upload harmful files.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Iowa, USA, unless the law of your place of residence requires otherwise.
